The Bormioli Rocco Stone highball glass has a capacity of 49 cl and is supplied in sets of six. The glass has a heavy base and a rough, stone-like exterior that provides extra grip.
What to use this glass for
At 49 cl, this is a generous highball glass: it can hold plenty of ice while still leaving enough room for the mixer and garnish. Think gin and tonic, mojito, iced coffee, or latte macchiato—the tall cylindrical shape shows off layered drinks beautifully. The textured exterior also keeps the glass from slipping when your hands are wet, which is useful behind a busy bar. Stir with a long bar spoon that reaches the bottom.
Choosing and maintaining the glass
Choose this size if you work with plenty of ice: at 49 cl, there is still room for gin and tonic in the right proportions after adding a generous scoop of ice. If you work with smaller portions, a glass of around 35 cl is more practical. Wash it on a standard cycle and rinse with soft water afterward; otherwise, limescale can build up in the rough exterior.
