A slim, tulip-shaped 25-centiliter glass with a nucleation point in the base, mounted on a long, slender stem. The tapered rim makes this glass suitable for champagne and sparkling wine in bars and restaurants.
What a nucleation point does
There is a tiny etched point in the base where carbon dioxide gathers. This creates a constant stream of fine bubbles instead of a brief burst. The inward-curving rim directs the aromas toward the nose, something a straight flute does not do. Other slender models can be found among the champagne flutes, while the broader selection is available among the champagne glasses.
