Twelve centiliters is the classic port size: more generous than a liqueur glass, smaller than a wine glass. Just enough to let a serving of fortified wine breathe without overpouring.
Fortified wine needs room
Port, sherry, and Madeira have a higher alcohol content, causing the alcohol vapors to dominate in a glass that is too small. This bowl gives them just enough air for the sweet and nutty notes to come through. More small bowls can be found among the liqueur glasses. Grappa or an aged genever also comes into its own in this size.
Matches the rest of your tableware
The stem and foot are identical to those of the wine glasses from the Cabernet series, so your dessert course will not look out of place. Chef & Sommelier makes the glasses from Kwarx, which remains clear after thousands of dishwasher cycles, and keeps the series available for repeat orders. Good to know: the series remains available for repeat orders, and with multiple sets, the discount can rise to 15%. For a restaurant with a dessert menu, this is often the glass that is still missing.
