The 25 cl tumbler is on the small side for water during a long dinner, but it’s just right when placed next to a wine glass and not used as the only glass. Never fill a small wine glass more than about halfway; there should be space above the wine where the aroma can collect. For a Aperol Spritz you can fill it more, because it contains ice and the space disappears on its own. La Rochère presses this glass in a factory that has been running since 1475, and the technique explains its properties: pressed glass has thicker walls and is therefore sturdier than blown glass, and it takes the dishwasher without complaint. With the stackable tumblers, go carefully when a stack sticks; lift a stack by the bottom glass and never pull hard on the top one.
