The difference between the two long drink glasses is small on paper but noticeable in use. The 29.5 cl is the size for soft drinks and for a mix in which you don't want much ice. The 35.5 cl leaves room for a full portion of ice plus about 15 cl of mixed drink, and is the safer choice if you work with fixed pour measures. The 26.6 cl tumbler is the lowest shape, meant for water with a meal or for a short drink on the rocks. For wider shapes, have a look at the tumblers and the old fashioned glasses.

You build a long drink from the bottom up: first the glass full of ice, then the spirit, and only then the mixer. That way the drink mixes itself and you hardly need to stir. The 35.5 cl takes a cuba libre with 5 cl of rum and cola to just under the rim. For a mojito the same size is handy, because mint and lime need their share of room at the bottom before the crushed ice goes in.

The glasses handle dishwashing at high temperatures. What actually wrecks glasses in practice is stacking: two tumblers jammed inside one another rarely come apart intact, so store them side by side.
