You only notice the difference between 29.5 and 39 cl once ice comes into it. Four ice cubes take up roughly a third of the capacity, so the small tumbler leaves room for about 18 cl of drink and the large one for 25 cl. If you want a can of soft drink to go in at once, take the large. For water or a drink with dinner the small one is enough. Put the ice in the glass first and pour afterwards, because ice dropped onto liquid splashes and melts faster. For a gin and tonic, fill the large tumbler to the rim with ice, pour the gin over it and let the tonic run down along a bar spoon so the fizz is preserved. A mojito works in the large size too: press the mint against the wall rather than pounding it, or the bitter leaf veins are released.

Glit is made of tempered soda-lime glass, which tends to deflect a knock rather than shatter. The relief does not hold deposits as long as you wash up in good time; if a haze remains, that comes from lime in the water and not from the glass itself. All sizes may go in the dishwasher. Place them apart, because tumblers that sink into one another get stuck.
