Absolut Citron
The lemon vodka from Åhus, and the vodka used in the original Cosmopolitan recipe. Fresh, lively, and well-balanced: with soda, in a Lemon Drop, or simply in a pink Cosmo.

The lemon vodka behind the Cosmopolitan
Absolut Citron is Absolut Vodka flavored with lemon and a hint of lime. The brand describes it as a lively, fresh vodka that's uncomplicated and well-balanced. Unlike most Absolut flavors, which are 38% ABV, Citron has the same 40% as the original. That means it works in a cocktail like a full-strength vodka, with an added edge of citrus.
Citron owes its fame to the Cosmopolitan, one of the most famous modern cocktails: the original recipe was made with this lemon vodka. Like all Absolut vodka, it comes from Åhus in southern Sweden, where all the ingredients are sourced locally and the distillery operates carbon-neutrally. The brand sums this up as 'one source, one community'.
In brief
Fresh, sour, and bright like lemon zest
Fresh lemon
A lively, fresh lemon aroma, with a hint of lime behind it. Not candy-like, more like the scent of freshly grated zest.
Balanced citrus
Crisp and well-balanced. The citrus is clearly present, but the vodka remains dry and not sweet.
Clean and warm
At 40%, it's a little warmer than the other flavors, with a fresh citrus note that lingers.
Flavor profile of Absolut Citron neat and ice-cold. With soda or in a cocktail, its freshness really comes through.
