Smirnoff Ice
Smirnoff Ice isn't vodka for mixing yourself. It's already mixed: Smirnoff No. 21 with the classic lime flavor, at 4%. Just drink Ice ice cold; that's all there is to it. If you'd rather make it yourself, below you'll find the lime vodka cocktails that are most similar.

What exactly is Smirnoff Ice?
Smirnoff Ice comes from The Smirnoff Co. in London and is ready to drink. In other words, it's a premixed drink made with Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka and the classic lime flavor. It's not beer. Nor is it vodka for mixing. The vodka is already diluted and flavored, leaving it with an alcohol content of 4%.
That's also what makes it so successful. You don't have to measure anything, you don't need a shaker, and its alcohol content is close to that of a regular lager. Looking for the same refreshing citrus flavor, but stronger and homemade? Grab a bottle of No. 21 and make a Moscow Mule or a Caipiroska.
In brief
Lime, fizz, and little alcohol
Citrus
You smell fresh lime and citrus. You can hardly smell any alcohol.
Light and sweet-sour
Light and sweet-sour, with a refreshing citrus note. The vodka is barely noticeable and mainly adds a little body.
Short and refreshing
The finish is short and refreshing. The colder the glass, the drier and fresher it tastes.
This is how Smirnoff Ice tastes when served ice cold. At room temperature, it tastes sweeter and less refreshing.
How to drink Smirnoff Ice, and how to make it yourself
Drink Smirnoff Ice straight from the bottle. The only things you can improve are the temperature and the glass.
Ice-cold in a highball glass
Take 200 ml of Smirnoff Ice from the fridge and pour it into a highball glass full of ice. Add a lime wedge to the rim. That keeps it cold and refreshing until your last sip.
Highball glasses →Homemade: Moscow Mule
Want it stronger and less sweet? Add 50 ml of Smirnoff No. 21, 15 ml of lime juice, and 120 ml of ginger beer to a copper mug full of ice. The same lime, but with more kick.
Go to recipe →Homemade: Caipiroska
Muddle half a lime, cut into wedges, with 2 teaspoons of sugar in a tumbler. Add crushed ice and pour in 50 ml of Smirnoff No. 21. The citrus flavor of Ice, but fresh.
