Royal Leerdam Artisan

The 22-centiliter glass is the standard size for a glass of water with a meal, juice at breakfast, or a small drink. It is low and therefore less likely to tip over. The 29-centiliter glass leaves room for ice and is the better choice for soft drinks or drinks served over ice. The difference between the two 29-centiliter glasses is purely visual: the Bubble model has air bubbles in the wall that refract the light, while the smooth model remains neutral and matches existing glassware. A stemless tumbler is meant to be picked up frequently, so don’t fill it to the brim: leaving two fingers’ worth of space prevents spills when passing it around. For drinks over ice, the 29-centiliter size works best with one large cube instead of many small ones, because large ice melts more slowly. This keeps an Old Fashioned flavorful White Russian the separation between cream and vodka visible in the glass for longer.

Royal Leerdam makes these tumblers by machine and gives the rim a separate finishing treatment, so it is less likely to chip. That is exactly where tumblers fail most often in daily use. The glasses are dishwasher safe and handle the temperature swings well. Do not nest them to save space, because glasses that have sucked together rarely come apart in one piece.
