Arcoroc Brixton

Start with what goes into the glass. For whisky, rum, or a cocktail over ice, choose the tumbler: 30 cl if you use one large ice cube, or 35 cl if you use ice cubes and need more room. For anything topped up with tonic or soda, choose the 45 cl highball glass, or the narrower 31 cl tubo, which takes up less space on a tray. The colored tumblers in pink, lilac, and blue have the same shape with a tinted finish, which is useful if you want to see at the table which glass belongs to whom. The 30 cl tumbler is the size an old fashioned should be: one ice cube, three centiliters of bourbon, and enough wall height to stir without spilling. For a gin & tonic use the 45 cl highball glass, fill it to the top with ice, and pour the tonic down the side so the carbonation stays in. If you want to serve it neat, stick to four centiliters in the tumbler.

Tempered glass is thermally strengthened: the rim and base are the strongest parts, exactly where breakage normally begins. As a result, Brixton can easily withstand a dishwasher running twenty times an evening. Wash on a short glassware cycle, rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth, because limescale is especially noticeable on dark bases. Place the glasses upright in the rack and make sure they do not touch each other. A glass brush removes residue from the base.
